    HP just released a Press Release stating webOS open source will be dubbed "Open webOS 1.0". According to the press release it would be on track for September of this year.

    Open webOS 1.0 will be similar in development as previous webOS versions running on WebKit. Version 2.0 will create greater compatibility for different browsers like Chrome and Firefox.

    Read on more for the Press Release and exact timeline of how everything will work in till September. This is good news as HP seems to not be dragging it's feet.

    Probably the biggest news for webOS users to come out of this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas was the revelation that just before HP put a halt to webOS, a technology company named OpenMobile was engaged in talks with HP to implement a technology which would allow webOS devices to run Android Apps, and immediately eliminate the app selection shortage which many consider to be the single biggest obstacle to webOS growth.

    Good news everyone, ever since the leaked developer beta version of webOS 3.0.5 doctor was released we have all been wondering when the official 3.0.5 update will be available.

    Majority of detail pointed to January 2012, and looks like we were on point. webOS 3.0.5 is available and can be found by going to your "System Updates" in "settings".

    As most can see and feel the difference, webOSbuzz has been redesigned and fully updated. Note that there will be many changes that you will see, whether it be the general look or just the more advanced quick reply. webOSbuzz has stepped it up a notch in aesthetics and functionality.

    As majority of tech junkies have assumed, HP will not kill off webOS. As stated on Friday by HP CEO Meg Whitman, webOS will be open source and open to all developers. Although webOS software will remain, hardware will be discontinued indefinitely.

    HP CEO Meg Whitman has stated webOS' fate will be delivered within two weeks. In most recent interview by french reporters, Meg Whitman has been quoted "We should announce our decision in the next two weeks. This is not an easy decision, because we have a team of 600 people which is in limbo. We need to have another operating system."

    Seems like HP is having a hard time keeping these pre-released webOS doctors from coming out in the open. webOS 3.0.5 comes as a new update and release candidate for a most probable future official update of webOS 3.0.5. Maybe to fix some issues that we have heard in the past..ahem, sound, gaming. For links and FAQ, read on.
