HP CEO Meg Whitman has stated webOS' fate will be delivered within two weeks. In most recent interview by french reporters, Meg Whitman has been quoted "We should announce our decision in the next two weeks. This is not an easy decision, because we have a team of 600 people which is in limbo. We need to have another operating system."
Ever since HP purchased webOS from Palm back in 2010, much was promised but nothing was quite delivered on HP's end. Although webOS is still probably the 2nd most owned tablet on the market behind the giant iPad, HP is still considering sale of webOS or open source of the underdog OS. HP somehow gives us a lack of confidence after all, we thought we were going to get webOS watches, webOS printers, webOS PCs, and especially webOS toasters
.Lets hope HP does right by the fateful webOS community!
