Good news everyone, ever since the leaked developer beta version of webOS 3.0.5 doctor was released we have all been wondering when the official 3.0.5 update will be available.

Majority of detail pointed to January 2012, and looks like we were on point. webOS 3.0.5 is available and can be found by going to your "System Updates" in "settings".

As majority of tech junkies have assumed, HP will not kill off webOS. As stated on Friday by HP CEO Meg Whitman, webOS will be open source and open to all developers. Although webOS software will remain, hardware will be discontinued indefinitely.

HP CEO Meg Whitman has stated webOS' fate will be delivered within two weeks. In most recent interview by french reporters, Meg Whitman has been quoted "We should announce our decision in the next two weeks. This is not an easy decision, because we have a team of 600 people which is in limbo. We need to have another operating system."

Seems like HP is having a hard time keeping these pre-released webOS doctors from coming out in the open. webOS 3.0.5 comes as a new update and release candidate for a most probable future official update of webOS 3.0.5. Maybe to fix some issues that we have heard in the past..ahem, sound, gaming. For links and FAQ, read on.

Times have been tough for the little adopted operating system we all like to call webOS. After being purchased back in Spring of 2010, we have been filled with hopes with having a company with deep pockets like HP to support webOS. Fast track it to November 2011, the company went from being a possible major player to a OS that is on life support. News recently broke that HP will most likely be keeping their PC division intact, practically retracting what Leo Apotheker stated back in August. However, lips have been sealed on the fate of the huge underdog webOS. Will they keep it around?

It is well documented that after the webOS 3.0.4 update that was pushed to us earlier last week has brought us some improvements in performance and even a camera app. Along those improvements there has been a string of accelerometer issues where the HP TouchPad does not recognize the movement or even responds to the tilt action for such games like Need for Speed and Asphalt 6.
