Thread: Any new systems coming out soon?

Any of your huge gamers know if a new system will be coming out? IMO the systems are good the way they are now, and it seems like their just slimming the current versions of the PS3 and xBOX.

Doubt it. The current generation of systems are predicated to have a longer life cycle than their predecessors for a couple of reasons. One reason is I don't think devs have fully tapped the potential of the current gen systems, and because of this, it would not make financial sense to create a whole new console.

In terms of handhelds, Nintendo did reveal new hardware at E3. The Nintendo 3DS. THAT looks interesting.

any news about good palm games in the UK?

I think the new 3DS looks very interesting and depending on price I could see myself getting it on day one.

I respectfully disagree. I think this cycle of systems will be as short-lived as the ones prior the same as Blu-Ray will be the shortest lived mainstream multimedia medium.

There are rumors of a handheld X-Box System. Anyone hear anything about that?

i think cellphones might dominate the handheld gaming systems in the future. its affordable and practical.

Cell Phones can never surpass the experience of playing a game like God Of war 3 on a 50inch High Def tv but they may beat out the other handhelds like PSP and DS

THey did just recently make the xbox 360 slim. i dont think its like a new system but a knew way of gaming or whatever like there making the new xbox slim ready for kenect or whatever were you dont need a remote to move the stuff on the screen and theres a camera... i thought that was cool...

i like ps3. i hope for ps4 with 3d bluray and nice surround sound inbuilded.

Seems this generation will last much longer than previous. At least 8 years though could go on longer. With things like Kinect and Move launching later this year I would think we'll be seeing the current consoles for at least 3 more years.

Im just hoping for the Pre2 to come out soon...

I really wish morefocus would be spent or story and game content then grahics at this point...

+1...I have a few friends that won't look past the graphics. It could be the best game ever, but if the graphics don't look good, it won't get a fair shot.

well Nintendo 3DS is a certain thing, that's gonna happen soon, no news on Wii2 (HD) or PS4 nor the next xb0x. It has been rumored that this generation on consoles will be on the market the most of the generations. PS3 is getting 3D support through firmware update.

well at least the ps3 is more advanced than the 360, but then again, the quality of the 360 is still higher

The 360 just has a more vast library of titles cause its easier to develop on the 360 than the PS3.
