well, depends on how you compare the both of them. touchpad still has too few apps for now, sadly

I like them both. I do prefer the size of the GT - so conveient to carry anywhere, and I have to admit I'm a droid fan. I love playing with this TP though - the size makes it better suited for home use and not carrying around. I'm still getting acquainted with it but I've got in the back of my mind installing android on this puppy when it comes available. Anyone else of my mindset?

huge fan of android, currently have an evo 4g, but this webOS is great especially on this powerful tab. I bought this and had a plan on switching to droid, but as long as it is user or developer supported I will never change!

Not sure if you get this but..
Samsung G-Tab (P1000) original - released 14 months ago
HP T-Pad - released 1 month ago
Samsung G-Tab (P1000) original - Single Core ARM, 1 Ghz, 512MB RAM
HP T-Pad - Dual Core 1.2 Ghz, 1GB RAM
Comparing the two is like comparing Chalk and cheese. Comparing two technologies 12 months apart, that has twice the specifications?? Why do you even bother to compare?
G-Tab is still much better for portability and that it has 3G enabled - something that will never see the light of day on the HP T-Pads.

I'm pretty impressed so far with the Touchpad, it compares favorably with my Galaxy Tab.
TP is now my tab of choice, just wish it had a front facing camera - nothing else I can criticize, I love the 'swipe to close'. Yeh, needs more apps, but I'm sure they'll be lots coming after the firesale success.

Thats not what your title says. How about if you wrote "WebOS is better than Android Gingerbread?".. As compared to your "My new hardware is better than your 12 month old hardware"..
BTW - Your smoothness is also driven by better hardware - two cores can move the screen faster than one. If you want a real comparison, compare it with an Asus Transformer, Motorola Xoom, Galaxy Tab 10.1 or Acer Iconia.

it depends on which galaxy tab you're talking abou--the original galaxy tab or galaxy 10.1?
I have an android phone and have used android tablets; webOS only lacks in apps when compared to them

Yes, but the touchpad has VERY little number of apps. What they do have seems to cost way to much. Not to get off subject but thats why i think the ipad has done so well even though it's hardware is worse compared to other tablets. WebOS has a nice interface but i feel that hp isn't supporting it and that devolpers dont give a rat's ass about the touchpad because it has a small amount of users.... you know what im saying?
