android anyone?
Anyone put android on their device yet? I did I'm running CM7 android alpha 3 on it ans I've got to say, this thing is so nice with android on it!!! Although some apps do not work still, I find that most apps do work. And installation was super easy! Oh and you can overclock to 1.8 ghz extremely easily

I'm running CM7-Alpha3- Xronified Edition. And while android is nice, web browsing is still faster and smoother on WebOS. Once the bugs are worked out, Android may be a good choice for some. As for me, I'm sticking to WebOS until Android can provide a smoother web browsing experience. The YouTube app is nice, as well as Launcher Pro instead of that garbage ADW Launcher. A Twitter app was a nice plus until Graphite came along. To each their own. I like it, but WebOS is still smoother.

if you haven't figured it out yet... CM is the base and other are kanged. some just modd it by theming or a combination of tweaks, themes, and apps not included with CM. xronified is mostly themed to look like another OS with added minor tweaks and apps. but what ever is broken or bugged in the CM releases will more than likely be borked in other CM based releases.

I installed the CyanogenMod nightly build. Used it for few weeks but it's still Alpha. The battery life was not nearly good enough to continue. Just uninstalled it now and went back to WebOS.

Interesting to read this thread... I remember back when I bought the TP, which was when they had the fire sale early last summer. It was clear lots of people were buying it, in spite of it being discontinued by HP, on the basis that an Android port was imminent. I remember a woman standing in front of me on line at Best Buy -- she was getting 2 of them, and gushing about how Android was right around the corner. Here we are almost a year later and still no reasonably solid version. Even worse, with so many high-end Android devices coming to market there seems to be little reason for people to spend time on coding for a port.
I really like the TP, I think there's many, many reasons to praise the device, but at this point I have to say I'm kind of giving up on it. I've even been considering selling mine, as they are still getting a decent price on Ebay. Updates on this site have pretty much dried up, development has dried up (and what a joke, the developers want to blame that on us!!!) ..... not sure where the upside is any longer. HP blew it. The TP could have been the top of the line.Last edited by Plague; 04-16-2012 at 05:15 PM.

Browsing on WebOS good?
Someone above is saying webos browsing is good and advocating dual boot......really?
I loved webos and the cards and flick to close etc....but the trouble was the browser was so bad 30-40% of sites were not working correctly with webos....is there an update or a third party browser now that is worth using.
I didnt update to 3.0.5 since I pretty much gave up on webOS - but would love to dust it off.
