hello! (and some good tips for new people)

Hello everyone! I'm a new touchpad owner and i looove it so far.

Here are a couple hugely useful things I've learned so far that will (hopefully) make others' lives easier/better as well.

    1. Speed it up by disabling endless logging: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/mobile-new...-touchpad/3866

    2. I was really disappointed that a word processor isn't included nor does one exist. i was equally disappointed that google docs didn't work well because you can't scroll. however, i did find that Zoho web apps (word processor, spread sheet, powerpoint, etc) all work fairly well. to make it even easier you can use a google login to avoid another annoying signup process! http://www.zoho.com/

    3. You definitely want to install preware and get the uberkernel to be able to bump it up to 1.5 ghz.

One thing I do need help with is a decent e-reader solution. Kindle is great and all if you want to buy new books, but I want to be able to read epub books. pReader seems to freeze whenever I try to import a book (either that or its takes an unacceptable amount of time to import). If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears....even if it means converting formats and importing them into the kindle app.

I have, but either you can't or i couldn't figure out how to easily switch back to stock kernel. it was stable, but i don't see how you can boost performance by 30+% and not take a decent hit on the battery.

What I would really like to know is:

    1. How do I put cd artwork on the tablet with the music folder without it showing up in My Photos?? Do i just not drag it over with the music files?
    2. How do I put audio books on it with them showing up with Music files??

Try the Alpha version of pReader from Preware - it seems to load MUCH faster, and it works fine with epub books. Still a bit glitchy, but very usable. It does, however, seem to choke on .mobi books (I just used calibre to convert to epub).

    Never mind...

Wow, now this thing flies! The overclocked helped a little, but "muffling" the logging makes this thing seem like it's on steroids!
