none of the file-sharing sites seem to work on my touchpad. the best I get is a download that finishes instantly and has a filename of random characters ex. f01e0e72e95b3b25a9cf1e7ef7e8a858ae521f62 there something I need to do? Thanks

not all work. i prefer to use the PC method. but fileserve and megaupload work with the TouchPad.

I have the same issue with both of those sites

I'm not sure I use both those sites on my TouchPad. Maybe you should doctor your device or just use the PC way.

Just one thing to remember, any applications loaded by the above process (.ipk file install) will not register your file with HP catalog. Any update to these files will disable the program (either app or game).
Do not install updates from app manager to your files. It will disable them and you will need to load them again.
I some cases you will receive error and would not be able to load it.
I did tested this several time on different TPs. Unless I'm doing something wrong, this is a current status.
Others feedback welcome.

Quick question.... If wanting to use WebOS Quick Install then connecting the TP to PC Does one select USB mode ? Also same if wanting to use Preware for installing apps?

all of the sudden, webOS quick install won't work on my pc anymore.. I don't know if it's because of the latest webOS update, but it keeps saying that it kind find the nova drivers, or something to that affect. I reinstall the novacmd drivers, but it still can't see my touchpad...help!

You are absolutely correct. I have done and verified that if you update, the app will stop working and need to be removed and reload.

you gave very detailed explenation, do you know why it not working for me any more after update to 3.0.5.

It happend to me also, i think it because the webOS 3.0.5 update.
I also tried to install app & patchs thru novaterm & also got errror massage.

tried to install a game via a file sharing site linked on here. File opens in preware, but never finished installing. I cancelled the install by closing preware, but are there any files I need to delete and where would they be? Thanks.

hi this is my first message in this site i bought my touchpad two days ago.i loaded webos quick install but when the installing window comes the program freezes.i wait about 2 hours for a 5 mb game but it couldnt installed it to touchpad.i didnt understand what to do with preware so i havent tried it yet please help me
