Thread: WOL for Touchpad

While Splashtop Remote works fine, I cannot get my WOL to wake up my Compaq desktop. WOL is also loaded on my tp and Splashtop Streamer is loaded on my computer but there seems to be some incompatibility. Is anyone aware of a download to fix/explain this problem? Thanks and Happy Holidays!

If your wireless router is connected via ethernet to your compaq computer then the wol will in most likelihood work HOWEVER if you are trying to wake your compaq over wireless this will usually not work as the wireless is asleep. There may be ways around this depending on the system but if so you will need to make sure that the wireless adapter does not shut down with power saving and your system supports WIRELESS Wol. I cannot say if it can be done as none of my systems support it, If your compaq is near your wireless router then a network cable between them may solve your problem.

Thanks and my pc is hard wired via ethernet to my Linksys E4200 router. I have a feeling the problem stems from some incorrect settings in either the splashtop streamer app on the tp and/or the splashtop WOL app on the pc.
The WOL packet sent from my tp either never reaches the splashtop streamer on my pc (which is operational) or it arrives and the incorrect settings cause it to be blocked.

I may have reversed the order of things a bit. Streamer is resident on my pc, while WOL is resident on my tp.
