Question Can i use any BT keyboard or do i need to use the hp touchpad keyboard specifically made for it?

The keyboard is kind of expensive and i wont be using a keyboard too often so i cant justify paying all that much for it. can i use a third party BT keyboard?

I've tried to pair the BlüeNext BN1000 Mini Bluetooth Keyboard without success, it uses the Broadcom 2042 Chipset.

BlüeNext's website has no support page for this model on their website. I've emailed them with a query about pairing, but no reply as yet.

I am using a bluetooth keyboard designed for iPad. Just remember to use the same passkey when pairing for the first time.

eg: press "1" on touchpad when prompted and also press"1" on the bluetooth keyboard

Any should work although specialty buttons might not work. The hp option is fairly unbeatable pricewise at 30-40 bucks but I still wouldn't recommend it. Without escape, alt, or any function keys it's painful to use for VNC, linux chroot, windows, etc... I'd rather buy one awesome 70$ keyboard to rule them all than two 35$ dedicated keyboards.
