    WARNING to iLuv case users

A word of warning to iLuv users!

I got my case yesterday and was pleasantly surprised with it.. But I did think the metal badge on the front was vulgar and unnecessary.. But the more I thought about it, the more I thought that it also looked dangerous too.

Its a great big bit of metal with square edges, which flaps about too near the screen for my liking.. I was afraid that it could get trapped inside the cover and pressed into the screen.. But last night something else happened which scared the c**p out me, and I suggest you take note.

I was using the Touchpad and had my right hand down on my leg... I needed to touch the screen, so I bought my hand up and in doing so, 'flicked' the buckle which caused it to arc up and over and WHACK the screen... Luckily no damage was done, but I can tell you it hit the screen hard and I am in no doubt that this could break the screen.

I showed a colleague this morning, but this time but a wad of paper on the screen to protect it. And I was surprised how little force it takes to make the buckle 'flick' onto the screen..

Personally, I was so worried about this, I removed the metal.. I grabbed the underside of the metal block with my nails and stretched it and it came right off easily.> Underneath there is a strip of cardboard coloured material around 70x2mm which can be covered up with a marker pen .. I truthfully think it looks and feels better now without the metal!

Be warned.. Be careful... I really believe that a screen breakage because of this is possible, if not likely.

    Jon

That sounds like a lot of uncessary worrying. I think its definitely worth it to just buy the OEM case. It works and fits well, and has a good pivot degree.

There is no doubt that you are right.. But since many people have already bought the iLuv case, I wouldn't say that I am worrying unnecessarily. My simple mod will take 10 seconds to implement and I believe it could save them a lot of pain!

Yep. Just put something flat underneath it and bend it. It comes right of with no effort.
