Thumbs up The Palm Touchstone, A Must Have Accessory!!!!

With the awesome technology that's behind the [Only visible to members, ]Inductive wireless charger, Its no wonder why people would pay from $60-$80 bucks for one. Its just makes life a little easier and the more easier we can make life, then the happier we will become The advantages of having the Palm touchstone are.....
    • Place your phone on the Charging Dock when you're on a call and its speakerphone automatically turns on
    • Pick your phone up from the Charging Dock while you're on speakerphone and the conversation is automatically routed back to the phone
    • For incoming phone calls, simply pick up the phone from the Charging Dock and it answers automatically, without having to tap the screen
    • When the phone is not in use Nightstand mode displays the time and incoming notifications
    • View media in portrait of landscape mode while it's charging
I just love my touchstone and it also looks great on my glass computer desk, along with comes with a sexy matte finish back cover. If you have a touchstone, or just simply love the idea of it, Post here.

I only have one touchstone so I just unplug it from my house then stick it to the middle console of my car when I drive.

I think Palm should've advertised the touchstone on the original pre commercials

Yeah agree, they really Dropped the ball on that one(again) a lot of people think that power-mat was the first ones to come up with this technology

They've still got a chance to at least be the only OEM to have an inductive charger in everyones minds

Palm needs to go back and sweep up all of the small ideas that they left behind that could of made them money. Now is the time out of any that they are going to need it.

IMO they can't afford to dig up old ideas that they decided weren't worth making years ago because that's just liquid assets that should be devoted to their primary (and as of now only money maker) smartphones

For all of the touchstone users: Do you really prefer this tech over the benefits of having an additional and/or larger battery? Really?

I mean, it seems novel, and is the perfect setup for putting on the clock app all the time, but with the four-five hour battery life of the pre anyways, wouldn't it be better to simply strap on a few more cells for the same price?

I really like the idea but really am unsure of the lack of extended battery availability

I love the touchstone and the stock battery works fine for me. I use the 800mhz kernel and the scaling app to scale it to 125mhz when not in use. This makes my battery drain about 2% an hour most of the day. Yes, I could always use a better battery but it's not needed for me.

I had been meaning to fly high in the 800 world, but needed to remove it cause battery did suck. Maybe i will try it again judging by your percentage on battery lost with the scaling

one thing i hate is how long it takes for the Pre to boot up. so I don't like changing batteries. so majority of the time when I know I got a 6+ hour day, I carry a charger or battery depending on whichever is more convenient.

I use the device menu megamix with flashlight and media volume slider so the GPS is easily accessible to turn off. I just turn that, wifi, and bluetooth off when it's not needed and I get 2%-3% drain when it's idle.

    I love my touchstone.

Also, if I have nothing to say at the moment but also have absolutely no intension of spamming, how else am I to get my post count up in order to see the restricted sections?

Oh no, you missed understand who 063xobx was directing that message too, the particular member that 063xobx had quoted "this will make five posts" was due to that particular member had decided on making what should of been one normal sentence in one post, In to the same normal sentence divided in to 5 post to boast the post count.

Like for example Post#1 have on in my car
    Post#2 and one at work
Post#4 and one in the bathroom
Post#5 this will make five posts
Again that is an example of what we dont what members to do since it is only 5 post, which is not a lot that we are asking for either just for members to have the privileged on being able to download hope that clears things up for you, and please feel free to post what ever you wish on topic......

I love the touchstone, pretty ingenious idea. Has anyone seen the "powermat"? Did they rip off palm's idea or is it different technology?
