Thread: How to get Hulu Access on HP TouchPad?

There has been many different ways to get this done, and just release is a testing patch that will fix the Hulu problem. All you need is the Preware webOS Testing Feeds.



Once installed the Testing Feeds, you can start up Preware and search 'Hulu', there you will see the Hulu Fix patch, once install just reboot for good measure and it will be fixed. Hulu access once again!

chmod 755 /usr/lib/BrowserServerPlugins/libflashplayer.so

did you change the permissions?

If you understand them its probably best off to strictly follow his instructions, but I can say that once you get through step 9, his shorthand confused me and all I did to get it to work was...
- Use the already installed with the sdk novabrowser rather than download/install novaterm.
- Just copied the browser/serverplugins/libflashplayer.so to my desktop, made a backup there, hexedited it as told and used the add command in novabrowser to replace the original. Viola, done and working.

Didn't need to do chmod or do anything in the media/internal folder. If you get the error I suppose you do but not everyone.

Also, while installing the SDK you will have to get virtualbox. Make sure you download 3.2 instead of the current 4.01 version. I missed that detail the first time while I skimmed.

And to clarify what this is doing, you are changing the identifier of your flashplayer from web os to windows.

i am in the uk, is there anyway for me to get hulu to play by tricking it to think i am in the us ?

Okay, I keep getting a read only error. I have the system in developer mode, and everything. It still says it is read only.
How do I get around this?

For those of you who don't already know, in the preware (testing feeds I think), NuttyBunny has released a hulu patch. He pushed update 3.0 the other day, and it does the patching for you with the click of a button.

just fyi nuttybunny's patch doesn't work for me and my touchpad.

will it works in Europe too?

go to project free tv ... Or videobull.com ... These sites are way better then hulu... Trust me I have hulu for the xbox.. But if your warching shows on the touchpad you don't need hulu... There's more then a few free websites that have 1000s of shows and many times update the new episodes the same night the show airs ... Ohh and hulu has commercals too lol... Hulu is wack

modvideo is way better than hulu

I am a tech novice, but my daughter really would like hulu-is this something that is tried and won't muck up the device--also, I read somewhere that the pre-ware can allow you to install Firefox--HP tech support says no-
