Thread: [Problem] with websites in other language

Hi all,
i can't read website in vietnamese (see pic)
This site has charset=UTF-8. Is that a bug of Web browser in WebOS?

it could be, how about other sites in other languages?

are you Vietnamese? I have this problem too

This will show you how to see Vietnamese Website from hoangtien1211 @ tinhte . vn site


Cách làm : replace 4 font Prelude, và xóa các font không phải font unicode (Arial, Cour, Times, Verdana có sẵn), add thêm các font unicode khác nếu muốn (ví dụ Arial hay Times lấy từ bộ font của Windows)

Link toàn bộ font trong folder font của TouchPad - để replace toàn bộ


Cách làm :

1. Bật Developer Mode :
-------Nhập webos20090606 vào thanh Just type, hoặc
-------Bấm phím upupdowndownleftrightleftrightbastart
-------Password mặc định của Developer Mode là để trống

2. Cắm dây nối TouchPad vào PC

3. Chọn chế độ USB

4. Chép thư mục webOSfont đã download vào thư mục gốc của TouchPad

5. Vào Windows Explorer, nhấp phải vào TouchPad, chọn reject

6. Chạy WebOSQuickInstall.jar ==> Tools ==> Linux Commanline



7. Gõ lệnh : mount -o remount,rw /

8. Gõ lệnh : rm usr/share/fonts/*.*

9. Gõ lệnh : cp media/internal/webOSfont/*.* usr/share/fonts

10. Gõ lệnh : ls usr/share/fonts, xem có list font giống trong hình không



11. Restart máy


Lưu ý : mọi người đừng chép font Prelude của những phiên bản OS cũ, cài vào sẽ bị crash

font Prelude mình đính kèm của webOS 3.0.2, đã được edit

font Prelude phiên bản mới này đã có thể hiện thị tiếng Việt tốt hơn, không cần thiết phải có Arial hay Times New Roman nữa


Các lệnh Linux Commandline :

Tắt read only mode : mount -o remount,rw /

Bật read only mode : mount -o remount,ro /

Chuyển con trỏ vào các thư mục : cd <đường dẫn>

Chuyển ra thư mục gốc : cd /

Xem các files trong thư mục : ls <đường dẫn>

Copy files : cp <đường dẫn 1>\<tên file 1> <đường dẫn 2>

Xóa files : rm <đường dẫn>\<tên file>


Chép nhanh 1 file 1 lần : Bật developer mode, cắm dây nối TouchPad và PC, Chạy WebOSQuickInstall.jar ==> Tools ==> Send File




Đường dẫn trong Linux Commandline :

Các file chép vào TouchPad qua USB mode : media/internal/

Thư mục font của TouchPad : usr/share/fonts


Web đã test : www.vnexpress.net, www.tinhte.vn, www.viet.rfi.fr, www.zing.vn, www.vn.yahoo.com, www.bbc.co.uk/vietnamese/, www.rfa.org, www.dantri.com.vn, www.thegioiphim.com, www.kenh14.vn, www.youtube.com, www.ngoisao.net

In my other post, I mentioned that I found your post and followed the steps but still unsuccessful with TAMIL fonts. Please see www.dinamalar.com , your help is mush appreciated.
