OVERCLOCKING
the palm pre´s processor is set at 500mhz...
with those tips in the article (which is part 3 of 3 ) you can now go up to 1000mhz!
links to part 1 & 2 are on the linked page
(my palm runs with 800mhz and the overclocking is really easy to handle)

1.05ghz...i wonder how fast the Pre will fry though.
-
I've been using the compcache 800Mhz kernel for a while now and I haven't had a single TMC error on my sprint pre since. I can load up as many 3D games as I want and not get it.
I've been thinking about going up to the 1Ghz one but this phone has to last me until December 2011.... so I think I'll wait for a more stable release from the webos-internals team.
-
i'm using the 800mhz screen off and on one. and its been stable, never a problem. but i'm pretty sure 1.05GHZ is pushing it a bit too much. wouldn't want to risk it just yet. until maybe palm announces something..
-
Palm did announce something a little bit ago about it.
They recommended not doing it as it would void your warranty.
-
my post was an information not a recommendation ;) i also have an 800mhz kernel and im very satisfied with this speed i also think that 1050mhz is a little over the top... but hey its possible :P
-
let us know if you try it out and how it turns out. by the looks of things, i might have to hold this phone for another 8 months. :(
-
ive tried out the kernel and the speed increases noticeable... BUT the temps are up to 113°F i changed back to 800mhz. i personally wouldnt use it the whole time. dont want to have a palm fried pre :P

I just upgrade from UberKernel to the SR71 Blackbird kernel, sooo much better.
-
I've been sticking with UberKernel. Kinda freaked out by those 1 GHZ and above ones.
-
Does this work for PixiPlus too or just Pre?
-
There is a Pixi uberkernel, but tops out at 600mhz.
-
I just bumped my Pre plus up from 720Mhz to 800Mhz setspeed and 1Ghz max. I can tell the difference and so far so good!
-
I have the 1ghz which is essentially the updated version of the Uber. It's noticeably faster than 800mhz and it's stable. Not too sure how stable the Blackbird is however.
-
Overclocking definitely made my device work a lot quicker and the drain on the batter was not too bad. Encountered some issues with making calls and other core apps. Anyone else experience the same ???
-
i'm a noob bout overcloking but its prettey easy and it works great I'm working at 1.0 Ghz
-
Overclocked my Pre to 800mhz. After that starting Apps and scrolling through the menu was faster but none of the 3D Apps would start :( Set my Pre to standard mhz again and everything works fine now. So I#M staying with the standard speed for now.

That's weird. From what I understand the games run at 600mhz. When I had the previous of Uberkernal I was running it in screenstate made at 500/800 and my apps and games and gps ran fine with the exception of the gps making my phone run hot. And now I'm running screenstate at 500/1000. And all my games still run fine. What game were you trying to run?

i tried the 1'2Ghz and the battery down fast, i was capable to open 23 apps and about 40% of battery
