touchpad charger for other usb power device

can i safely use the touchpad usb wall charger to charge my iphone or other usb device (ie-camera)

I haven't had any issues charging my Blackberry Bold with it. Nice considering I lost the original charger and I've been forced to use USB on my laptop. I also bought the Touchstone and I'm baffled why they integrated the cable. Comes with the adapter though.

don't use your TP wallcharger for charge another device, especially phone. TP wall charger had extremely higher ampere compare to your original phone charger. It could shorten your phone battery life or overheat it. Check first how big ampere does your Blackberry or Iphone original charger compare to 2A of HP touchpad.

The TP wall charger has the capability to output 2 Amps. It will not force 2 Amps of current into any device. The amount of current that is used to charge your phone, should be controlled by your phone's charging circuit. I use the TP charger to charge my Treo Pro without any problems.

NOTE: If you have a phone that specifically states that you can only use their charger due to possible damage, stick with that.

The only issue that you could have is if the device's charging circuit is faulty or shorted, in which case, the TP charger could cause a larger spark than a charger that only has the ability to put out 1 Amp of current.
