[PIXI] How to overclock your Palm Pixi
Hello,
In this topic, we'll overclock your palm pixi (or pixi plus) up to 800MHz instead of the 600 default ones ! This will make you phone really faster.
It's very straightforward and easy to do but, as it is very experimental, it can potentially BREAK your phone, leaving you no other choice but doctoring it (in the best case).
So, if you read it and you agree using an experimental kernel on your Pixi, you can start and have a really faster phone !
0) Before doing anything, ensure your phone is in developer mode: on Card View, type "webos20090606" (without the quotes), select the resulting icon and slide the slider to On, then, reset your phone when prompted (it doesn't erase anything, it's a normal restart). Then, plug your phone to your PC with the USB cable and select "Just Charge" when prompted.
1) Using WebOS Quick Install, click the blue arrow, go to "WebOS-Internals Feed (Pixi)" and select Preware. Click download.
2) When download is finished, click the "Install" button and wait for Preware to install on your phone.
3) When finished, launch the new Preware app on your phone, pull down the menu and select "Manage Feeds".
4) Scroll down to the bottom, put "Kernels testing" as name and "http://preware.is.awesome.com" as URL, make sure "IS COMPRESSED" is set to ON and tap "Add Feed". Tap "OK" to agree that you understand the risks that come with using testing kernels.
4 bis) Press GREY+SYM+R to reboot your phone.
5) After the reboot, launch Preware and wait for the Loading page to finish. Then type "Govnah" and install the app. Then, swipe back and type "Warthog". Touch the icon and touch "Install".
11) After a long install, your phone should ask to restart. Accept. Go take a coffee, it's really long...
12) After restarting, launch the "Govnah" app and touch "Profile". Then, touch "Advanced settings" and touch "CPU Frequency". Set the Min Freq to "245.76MHz" and the Max Freq to "806.4MHz" for a little more speed or "787.2MHz" for more stability.
Scroll to the very bottom and touch "Apply settings".
13) Optional. If you want to avoid the "Too Many Cards" error, go to "Compressed Swap", set it to TRUE and tap "Apply Settings"
14) Tap "Save As New Profile" and give it a name, like "Overclock".
15) You're done ! Your Pixi should now be ways faster !
Ask me if you have questions or problems.
Best regards,
simsor

yea has anyone tried this? I would assume you would drain the battery much faster?

I use it at 787Mhz and battery drain isn't so much notifiable (maybe it's because I don't use data connection). And it never crashed for me :-) In the glorious times of playing with max speed (600), it crashed often but the new Warthog Kernel is more or less stable. If you want more stability, use UberKernel instead of Warthog, but no 806Mhz for you in this case :-(
But it's stable, unless you try to run 4 PDK games at the same time, it should be stable ! (Not a joke, I just made this to try, 4 PDK apps running at the same time on the Pixi at 787Mhz ^^ ) (SuperJump, SDL Mille, Lopan, MineHX)

running at 806 is safe for device? The battery duration become too short?

it runs smooth but of course battery life would become a tad bit worse.
